Campaign Notes: Bowling for Single-Payer Healthcare
This Saturday, Jeremy and several members of the Karpen2010 Team joined Single-Payer Healthcare advocates and activists to bowl and talk about how to bring the state and national healthcare debate back to single-payer universal coverage. The event was organized by Illinois Media Progressives.
While Jeremy's bowling score was not impressive, he could not have been surrounded by a higher caliber group of community leaders: Dr. Quentin Young, State Representative Mary Flowers, Illinois Green Party Chair Phil Huckelberry, and many members of Health Care for All Illinois, Chicago Single-Payer Action Network, Physicians for a National Health Program, Progressive Democrats of America, Illinois Single-Payer Coalition, and the Illinois Green Party came together to end for-profit health insurance.
Jeremy is a firm supporter of HB311 and a nonprofit single-payer health care system in Illinois. "I firmly believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right. It is our duty as a society to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our neighbors and providing the opportunity for everyone to lead healthy productive lives. As such, I simply cannot support any system that attempts to profit off sickness, death, and dying." Click here to read more about Jeremy's stance on Healthcare in Illinois…
